A fancy date downtown Charleston isn’t always feasible with young children, work schedules, and kids’ schedules. Prioritizing frequent quality time with your spouse is necessary to build and maintain a healthy relationship. We find ourselves carving out time for each other right around our neighborhood. Here are some of our favorite spots to connect in and around Cane Bay!
Date Ideas Around Cane Bay
For Breakfast
Near the Nexton Parkway Extension is The Rustic Muffin. We love this relaxed coffee shop. Whether you like savory or sweet, there’s something for every palate. They are known for their New York bagels and, of course, their gourmet muffins. Check out their specials to try something new. Pair your quick bite with a latte and enjoy conversation with your sweetie.
For Shopping
Located in the same shopping center as The Rustic Muffin is Cane Bay Jewelers with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Check out this locally owned shop for fine jewelry when you’re celebrating a milestone or just because. Cane Bay Jewelers can also service and repair your wedding set and other jewelry. I trusted them with my wedding set, and they restored it beautifully!
Activity Date Ideas
Spend time together walking, biking, or riding your golf cart on the Cane Bay Trail. The 12 miles of trails wind through pine trees, ponds, and neighborhoods throughout Cane Bay. Whether you’re hitting the trails at sunrise, sunset, or mid-day, you can’t go wrong with fresh air and quality time. You may want to avoid it around school arrival and dismissal or you’ll get caught in the “golf cart parade.”
Included in the YMCA family membership is child care (ages six months and up). This makes for an easy weekly date. Drop the kiddos off to play and get your workout in together! Utilizing our smartwatches, we turn our fitness goals into a friendly competition. The strength and endurance you build will help you keep up with your kids!
For Lunch or Dinner
Famulari’s in Cane Bay is now reopened and improved by the original owners. Reconnect over a New York-style pizza and enjoy a craft beer. While their pizza is the main event, don’t snooze on their salads. My favorite is their crave-able Greek salad.
Heading back over State Road, another favorite is Agave Cantina. We have always had exceptional service at this restaurant and the food is consistently yummy. Any time spent together is better with chips and queso!
For Dessert
A few shops down from Agave is Scoop 50Fifty. There are so many tempting ice cream options to satisfy your sweet tooth. We love to try new flavors and enjoy old favorites by splitting an ice cream flight. An added bonus is giggling at their clever ice cream names. There’s so much nostalgia in a date at an ice cream shop. It’s an easy go-to.
