My List of Family Pool Day Essentials

Three kids wearing goggles, splashing water in a pool with their feet.Pollen has been covering Charleston, so that can only mean warmer weather is on the way! I know I am so excited, and I cannot wait to soon be relaxing by the pool. To do that, there are a few things we’ll need to make a family pool day successful. Here are a few of my favorite pool day essentials!

Essentials for a Perfect Pool Day

  • Bogg Bag

My all-time favorite pool day essential is my Bogg Bag! This bag is cute, spacious, and waterproof. It won’t tip over or leak, and you can easily hose it off after a long day of enjoying the pool. The Bogg Bag was invented by a mom, so you know it checks all the boxes. I have to give a shout-out to my neighbor for taking pictures of her cute Bogg Bag! She is way more organized than me, so I had to recruit her!

  • Bogg Bag Accessories

Once you have a Bogg Bag, the possibilities for customization are endless! This year, I am going to be adding this phone holder to my collection. My phone somehow always finds its way to the rock bottom of my bag! It is so frustrating having to dig through everything to find it, so I am super excited to snag this!

My neighbor has a really cute and functional cup holder like this one in hers. The cup holder will also hold a Stanley cup (another one of my essentials)!

  • Stanley Cup

I, of course, cannot go to the pool without filling my Stanley with ice-cold water! The Lowcountry is hot, y’all! Don’t forget to hydrate!

Pro tip: If you are hanging out in the pool away from your cup, place a napkin or something over the straw of your cup! It hasn’t happened to me, but I have seen spiders, bees, etc. making their way down those straws. No, thank you!

  • Snacks

Long gone are the days of waiting 20 minutes after eating before diving back into the pool! Why were we ever told that?! Anyway, my kids love all things fruit! I will load up these containers for a little variety. They are wonderful to toss into a cooler to stay cool, and pop out when we are ready to enjoy! I can take one container out at once, or all four if we are really hungry.

  • SPF Bag

Like I previously mentioned, I hate searching for things inside my Bogg Bag — that includes sunscreen! My kids, myself, and my husband all use different stuff so I need it in one spot. Enter this adorable SPF zipper bag! I found mine from a local shop off of King Street downtown.

  • Pool Towel Clips

I think everyone who lives in this area understands the wind is absolutely wild! That’s why for me, these pool clips are essential whenever we are at the pool. I use two per chair/towel, and long gone are the days of the wind blowing down my towel. I also will use it for my cover-up on especially windy days when I want it to air out, but if left on the chair it will be long gone!

I am so excited pool days are not too far away! What else makes your pool day essentials list?
