On Sunday, May 14th we are celebrating our mothers, grandmothers, foster mothers, and those who have taken on the significant role of being moms in various ways in our lives. 

What better way to begin Mother’s Day than by taking her out for a nice brunch? Or ending the day with a lovely dinner? Charleston has some of the best restaurants in the state, and we know you will find a perfect spot with food she loves.

  • 82 Queen (82 Queen Street): An amazing Lowcountry restaurant, open for brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering a special Mother’s Day menu. Eat some of their famous biscuits or she-crab soup outside in the courtyard or in one of the historic dining rooms. Make reservations here.

  • Coterie (17 Warren Street): Indian cuisine with Southern Charm is served here at Coterie. Offering brunch and dinner on Mother’s Day.
  • The Darling Oyster Bar (513 King Street): Does Mom like oysters? How about crab cake benedict? Bring her here for brunch from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • Miller’s All Day (120 King Street): With their specialty being breakfast, this brunch should be amazing.
  • Prohibition (547 King Street): A great brunch and dinner spot for Mom in the heart of downtown, Charleston.
  • Revival (162 East Bay Street): Offering some great Southern food for a special Mother’s Day dinner from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Book your reservation here.
  • Church & Union (32b North Market Street): Serving a Mother’s Day brunch buffet from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Lenoir (68 Wentworth Street): Vivian Howard’s restaurant is offering a special three-course family-style Mother’s Day supper from 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. Make reservations here.
  • Brasserie La Banque (1 Broad Street): Offering a Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. If Mom likes brioche French toast, this may be the perfect place to celebrate.
  • Park & Grove (730 Rutledge Avenue): Known for its fresh seasonal cuisine, bring Mom here for brunch to try their sourdough sticky buns, or Huevos Rancheros from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • High Cotton (199 East Bay Street): Take Mom here for brunch from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., especially if she enjoys crab cake benedict.
  • Eli’s Table (129 Meeting Street): Enjoy some Lowcountry gourmet food from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. They have beignets, fried green tomatoes, egg dishes, and some delicious chicken and waffles.
  • The Restoration Hotel’s Watch Rooftop (75 Wentworth Street): Bring your mom here for a buffet full of southern-style favorites from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Make your reservation today as space is limited!
  • Bodega & Share House (23 Ann Street): Treat Mom to a “mugmosa” all day for $6 at Bodega and then let her dance the afternoon away at the Share House.
  • Tempest (32C North Market Street): Take Mom here for a brunch buffet from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. They are offering a little bit of everything from oysters, to shrimp and grits, salmon, and even breakfast favorites like French toast (see the full menu on their main page). Folly Beach:

John’s Island:

  • Blu Oyster Sushi & Seafood (1804 Crowne Commons Way): Like the name says, bring Mom here for all things seafood for brunch and/or dinner. And did I mention they offer gluten-free FRIED fish options here, too?

James Island:

  • Jalisco Taqueria & Tequila (1271 Folly Road): This restaurant offers unique cuisine inspired by the chef’s time in Jalisco, Mexico.
  • Smoky Yolk Café (1234 Camp Road): This hidden gem is offering brunch on Mother’s Day, and as their name implies, they specialize in breakfast.

Sullivan’s Island:

  • The Obstinate Daughter (2063 Middle Street): Serving a Mother’s Day brunch from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Anything from sweet rolls and blueberry acai bowls to their famous pizza and pasta. There is something to enjoy here for everyone. And if Mom wants a special drink, try their Natural Blonde Bloody Mary.

Isle of Palms:

  • Islander 71 (80 41st Ave): Offering a Mother’s Day dinner overlooking the intercoastal waterway. There will be live music from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. by the Ben Whitney Band.

Mount Pleasant:

  • Nico (201 Coleman Blvd): Bring Mom to Shem’s Creek to eat at this oyster bar, serving French cuisine over a wood-fired oven. They are offering brunch and dinner on Mother’s Day. Call ahead 843-352-7969 to reserve a table, or book online through Resy.
  • Post House Inn (101 Pitt Street): Take Mom to this coastal inn in the Old Village to enjoy brunch from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. If Mom wants a delicious cornmeal waffle, this may be just the spot for her to start off her special day. Call (843)203-7678 to make a reservation.

West Ashley:

  • Metro Diner (1808 Sam Rittenburg): Take Mom here for some maple bacon bread pudding or a Belgian waffle!
  • Ruby Sunshine (835 Savannah Hwy): Did someone say Mimosa Flight with brunch? Well, take her here then! Lovely spot in Avondale with a regular menu, GF menu, and other specialty menus as well. Join the waitlist online and save yourself some waiting time, too.

Summerville:

Catering Services:
