Beech located on King Street downtown is a vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurant serving up healthy and delicious eats. Their menu features a variety of acai, poke bowls, wraps, salads, or even build-your-own poke bowls with options for every dietary preference. My personal favorite would be the ” Hawaiian Style Bowl,” a hearty mix of Nori Seaweed, Scallions, Sesame Seeds, Macadamia Nuts, and Pineapple.

Dell’z Uptown offers cold-pressed juice, and smoothies, making it a great spot to refuel after a day of exploring Charleston.

Huriyali, located on Huger Street, is a popular vegan and vegetarian cafe known for its fresh juices, smoothies, and bowls. Their menu features a variety of plant-based options, including acai bowls, quinoa salads, and avocado toast. Huriyali also offers a selection of healthy snacks and baked goods, making it a great spot to stop for a quick bite or grab something to go.

Basic Kitchen on Wentworth Street offers an array of plant-based options on its menu. Their focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients means that their offerings change regularly, but you can always expect plenty of vegetarian and vegan-friendly dishes to choose from. Don’t miss their beet hummus or the vegan coconut curry bowl.

Verde, located on King Street, is a salad-focused eatery that offers plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Their menu features a variety of fresh and healthy salads, with customizable options to suit every dietary preference. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic Caesar or something a bit more creative, you’re sure to find something delicious at Verde! They’ve also got locations in Mount Pleasant and West Ashley.

The Daily, located on King Street, is more than just a coffee shop and cafe. They offer a variety of vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their menu features everything from avocado toast to turmeric wellness smoothies, with plenty of healthy and flavorful options to choose from. Don’t miss their cold brew on tap, which changes frequently, and is the perfect accompaniment to any breakfast meal.

Charleston Moms owner Jody is (mostly) vegan and a huge fan of Neon Tiger, located on King Street. A vegan restaurant, Neon Tiger is sure to please vegans, vegetarians, and everyone in between. All of their food is made without animal products and everything Jody has tried has been delicious. Some of her and her non-vegan husband’s favorites are the pizzas. Plus, parking is easy at Neon Tiger!

If you are a health nut or someone who’s willing to try new vegan and vegetarian-friendly dining options like me, downtown Charleston is the place for you! There are plenty of delicious options to choose from. Whether you’re in the mood for a cozy cafe or a salad-focused eatery, you’re sure to find something delicious that fits your dietary preferences!

    • Apologies, just realized this list was for Downtown. Sometimes the food truck “Bangin’ Vegan Eats” is parked throughout Downtown, or around MUSC during lunch. Just wanted to share. As a vegan, I was so excited when I saw this article pop up in the Newsletter!

    • Thank you so much for your comment!! I will definitely have to check that place out! Thanks so much for your kind words 🙂
